Human trafficking in Bulgaria

Read a shocking article from The Good Samaritan Foundation and Sofia Baptist Church about the realities of human trafficking of Bulgarian children.

Many girls and boys face a life of forced labour, prostitution and, if they live long enough, having their organs taken and sold.

You can read the article by clicking here.

To help support Bulgarian Partners Trust, which works with Sofia Baptist Church to eradicate the social factors that lead to these sad circumstances, make a donation today.

Bulgarian Partners Trust Grand Auction coming this autumn!

The Bulgarian Partners Trust is holding a Grand Auction this autumn to raise money for the new Social, Medical and Training Centre in Sofia.

So have a peek in your attic or shed, and see if there are any hidden gems there, or have a spring clean of things you don't want anymore – one person's unwanted item is another person's treasure, and could help improve the lives of people less fortunate living in Bulgaria.

The things which Bulgarian Partners Trust hopes to auction off could include paintings, sculptures, sporting equipment and memorabilia, Bulgarian handicrafts and goods, fine furniture, antiques, coins, collectables, mystery objects, antiquarian books, and airmiles.

And, there are lots of other things of value which might not be worth much to you but could be worth a lot to someone else, such as DIY, cleaning, cooking, gardening, tuition, participation in outdoor activities, holiday accommodation, caravans, or timeshares.

100% of the proceeds from the auction will go towards the centre. For more information and to donate something which could help to provide education, medical care and training to the disadvantaged children and other vulnerable people of Sofia, download the donation form here.

Good News from Bulgaria

The Social, Medical and Training Centre Project has appointed its first employee!

Plamena Apostolova started on 25th March as Development Worker to review the services currently provided by Sofia Baptist Church to those in their community, and expand these services prior to completion of the new Centre. Plamy has been teaching the youngsters at Sofia Baptist Church and in orphanages for some years. She is a graduate of Sofia University in Pre-school Teaching and English, speaks Russian and Greek, and recently completed her Masters Degree in Social Work which will soon lead to Institution of Social Work membership.

We are delighted that Plamy has joined the Good Samaritan Foundation Team and wish her every success in her new role. Thanks to the generous UK donor whose monthly gifts make the appointment possible.
